"I Will Wait" by Mumford & Sons

Banjo lovers of the world!

Sufjan Stevens at Austin City Limits - Predatory Wasp from Lamarr Ripley on Vimeo.

the predatory wasp of the palisades is out to get us! - sufjan stevens (live at austin city limits 2006)

Easily in my top 5 favorite Sufjan songs. I really love this intro and performance. I would pay his ticket price just to listen to his stories.

Oh girl, I agree! I’ll never tire listening to his storytelling, I think it’s one of the best aspects of his artistry.

I don’t usually take video at concerts, the prime reason for this is cos I’m not very good at keeping still. At the 2nd show at Prospect Park, towards the end of the concert (during the encores), I decided to start videoing. Fortunately, just as an 8ft tall beach ball made it onto the stage and knocked Sufjan over. Great recovery from him :D

This is the only video I took and it’s not complete (only 50 seconds long), but I like it anyway :) Apologies for incompleteness and raindrops.

Moar grand Sufjan concert vids!

Star Wars: Retold (by someone who hasn’t seen it) by Joe Nicolosi

She did a much better job than I would & I’ve seen it, albeit only once four years ago!

Video: Fleet Foxes - “Grown Ocean”

Director Sean Pecknold sets footage of his brother Robin’s band Fleet Foxes crafting their sophomore LP, Helplessness Blues, to the new tune “Grown Ocean” in the nostalgia-inducing official clip above — a parting gift from frontman Robin Pecknold before he began a hiatus from the web this morning.

"Kentucky Pill" by Johnny Flynn. Less pointless scarf wearing, more beard, plz.

"Head Full of Doubt/Road Full of Promise" — The Avett Brothers

Even without the banjos & signature wailing, they still make solid folk tunes. All it takes is an honest, simple story & they make it golden. Also their new video is pretty to watch. Also Scott Avett’s voice! Swoon.

One does not simply sit down & listen to Adele at a reasonable volume. Also, a car with functional windows & terrible tonality for singing along are a must.

I just found my collection of R.L. Stine thrillers from my childhood. My life currently = work + eat + read Fear Street thrillers. Absolutely no sleeping.

My instantaneous, new favorite Fitz & the Tantrums.  Minus guitar, plus sassy backup singer Noelle Scaggs.  They’re bringing back the saxophone the way hipsters & Beirut boosted the accordion in ‘08.

Arcade Fire Music Video of the Day: “The Suburbs”

The Montreal multi-instrumentalists team up with Where the Wild Things Are director Spike Jonze to put some visuals over the title track of their latest studio album, out now on Merge.

The Tallest Man on Earth - “Love Is All” (Official Video)

The Tallest Man on Earth released a new video today for The Wild Hunt track “Love Is All,” in which Kristian Matsson’s lovely folk-pop tune is juxtaposed against some vintage footage of a family vacationing in the mountains, proving once again that home videos with a solo-acoustic soundtrack always make for a poignant ride (via 5 Score Pachyderm).

The National Release “Terrible Love” (Alternate Version) Video

On November 22, The National will release an expanded double-disc version of their fifth album, High Violet, which comes packed with 8 new recordings, including a few unreleased gems, live cuts, and this alternate version of “Terrible Love.” Enjoy the song’s Tom Berninger-directed video above, featuring footage from recent tours, a bowling alley, and their walk-on at a political rally last month.

I love seeing my favorite artists doing normal things.  Bowling is high on my list of normalcies so win win!

A rummage of items naturally & divergently glorious. Mostly coffee, wild things, good tunes & cute ideas for my abode.
