Borders excursion...
Lately it’s been my after-work hobby to stroll down the street & into Borders, which is closing down, if you didn’t know (so get down there!). Everything is marked down fifty percent at least & the blazing yellow banners keep roping me in. Bargain hunting is my favorite. Hurricane/Tropical Storm/Mild Sea-Breeze Irene...
Today we braced for a hurricane that turned into a tropical storm & then into mild rain/wind by the early afternoon. The only damage I can see on our street is a poor Willow Oak in front of our apartment that has barren lower branches. The neighbors blared Spanish oldies with the windows open all day & left a ton of crap in our shared backyard like they knew it was nothing to worry...

Jason Beaubien’s article/audio on the complete lack of tap water in Libya’s capital. Residents are taking to bringing water in tanker trucks & giving it out on the streets, but some are selling bottled water to their neighbors at five times the market price. What the heck, humanity. Worth a read, if not for awareness then for a bit of humility.
